Evening folks!
Thought I'd try to bring a little spring cheer to the days, seemings how it's supposed to get colder again. But not for long.....let's hope! This is a flower that my wonderfully romantic husband brought me just before Christmas (can you tell we're still newly married? Although he says he still might be buying me flowers by our tenth anniversary. Here's to hoping!) It's an Amaryllis and absolutely gorgeous! Think I might have found my new favourite flower!

We want to let you know that our resident blogger, Terri, has a bummed computer so that's why you haven't been hearing from us. She has her computer in as we speak and you will be hearing from her soon! She called me to keep in touch with you!

I've been enjoying the bought of nicer weather and getting out with the horses. The young ones are getting miles!
Ghost, Slim and the gang at the ranch want to send everyone holiday wishes and the best for 2010! We hope you have great expectations and are surrounded by love and family in the New Year.

Words of the wise!

Merry Christmas!

I've been meaning to post this picture for a couple weeks...finally getting around to it. I finally got out for a REAL ride. With some help from my friend Laura, we got Belle saddled. I sat on the tailgate of my truck to groom her and do up the cinches and bridle. The tailgate is a perfect 'step' for getting up on her too, when you can only use one leg! We got a good ride in...the only dicey part was going through the tight spots in the trees - the cast on my leg sticks out and I was a bit nervous about catching my leg on a tree. After a few minutes Belle figured it out - "give the trees on the right side an extra six inches!" - she did great.
This last weekend Terri, her daughter, and Wrangler Heidi spent the weekend at my place - sure was great to have company after being cooped up in the house for so long! We had a great time - you'll see from Terri's blog - and I'll be cleaning up after them for weeks to come (just kidding)!

You'll see in this picture...NO CASTS! I was lucky enough to have them removed after 5 weeks. The joints are really stiff, and I have an aircast for the leg, but we're getting closer!

Well it is Christmas Eve, so to everyone reading the blog tonight - Merry Christmas!

Scott, Ty & Belle.

Pre-Christmas visits....

I head to Brenda's..."heading out!"

After a night at Brenda & Guy's ranch we head to our friends Christmas Party "Anchor D Outfitters", Dewy shows us his new arena gone outfitter.
In his stand stalls he has duck area's on both sides and a SOLID wood or metal frame so that the colt can't get you!
His stalls were very well built and strong!

As Brenda couldn't go with us I took along wrangler Scott & Heidi...we have now made inside the log house!

The fireworks begin.....

Heidi lives a dream by helping out...

Mean while...Dewy has a leg crutch for Scott to try. Bit weird looking but he wore it all night!

The inside of their awesome house!

The outside of their awesome house!

We stayed over in their "hunter's cabin" & here is the inside!

The wranglers & Taylor on the outside of the amazing cabin!

Dewy the next day giving sleigh rides!

We stop at Bren's ranch & stop by the ponies. Here is Lilly the soon to be MOM...we will be having a foal countdown closer to spring...

Wild Deuce buys another great fjord cross, we are excited to have in our 2010 sting. His name is half...

After the ranch we stop over at Ya Ya Susan's house...

Susan cooks us up one great meal...thanks SUSAN!

It was a great few days before Christmas, except for the truck breaking down and still at Brenda's! Thank you Heidi for driving me home and thank you Scott for your kindness of your house! Last minute shopping begins...

The Christmas red-neck Tree Story at Terri's cabin...

Howdy...as the gifts are bought and still no tree. I ask daily about the tree....
Chuck finally get's the hint after 86 hours of work and I have been gone since last Friday...Chuck has a surprise for us. I arrive home to the cabin and settle in with all the dogs, visit the ponies...and un-load all the presents. Chuck arrives..little do I know he had gone out with Dan & cut down a tree and Dan is going to bring the tree to the cabin after supper. Dan calls a bit later asking Chuck to help him pull him out of the ditch as the roads and weather are not good here at the moment. The story comes out...Dan along with his folks from Sask are on there way with our tree. I guess our original tree had blown out of the truck & when they finally turn around and go back. The tree had been hit by the truck they had passed and was in rough shape. They quickly searched for another tree but ended up hitting the ditch...
But I am proud to show you our charlie brown Christmas tree is here and we all couldn't be happier!

Little delay on the Wednesday's wine...why. The weather was so nice and I spent the day outside, then I came in cranked up the fire stove, and was in bed by 7:30...now anyone that knows me. Knows that that is way to early for ole Ter!

This weeks wine is RED KNOT from Australia, it is a Shiraz 2007, $12.50 and won many awards. Very nice wine....finally I get to taste a good one again. I would buy this nice wine again, I think it would go good with pasta or steak...mmmm

Cowboy Chucks Coffee Cup!

Blond moment...forgot to add the blog after I made it this morning. One of those days...

Back to Chuck's review. The coffee in Chuck's cup this morning is from Hawaii LION'S Coffee their logo is "The cup that cheers..." As the day starts, Chuck is running out the door and I pass him this coffee in his to go mug. First review..."oh hon, it tastes like soap". Terri quickly pours that one out and pours more in a normal cup. 2nd Review....smooth! I was waiting for me and he just looked at me and said "what...it's smooth better without soap, I gotta go to work." With that he was gone. smile Have a great day folks & stay warm, won't last forever were in Alberta!!!

-30 and having some fun today!

Today I was bound and determined to head out to see the ponies as I have been gone and haven't seen them in over in quite some time. I was greeted to them running up to me..ahhh!

They are looking good and I was glad I packed my camera.

Here is my VERY pregnant Jessie, she is due along with Lilly and Scott's mare. We are super excited about this because we love the mare's and the stud!

So here is my path...I thought hey won't be that bad getting out to them! After breathing harder than anyone should..stopping repeatedly I had a different thought. THIS IS FAR in knee deep snow...well maybe not if your in shape..(not a word!)

This morning as slowly the Christmas decorations are going up I took a pic of my two studs (Stud & Nix) through my wreath. They played most of the day it is nice being so close to them you can watch them all day!
Hope your all getting geared up for Christmas and staying warm, I am wondering how my LA partner is doing adjusting to life here in Alberta...

A gift sent to W2 from a guest last summer...

Thank you and you know who you are, I LOVE IT and have it hanging in the cabin. Brenda hasn't seen it yet...wonder if she will see it here...hmmm. Again thank you and haven't heard you blow my whistle yet! smile.

Pumping up the Adrenaline!

So, YEAH!!!!!, I'm home!!!! Despite the weather it always feels good to be home. And it was so great to see the dogs. Nothing like UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!! I love them!
So other than the weather, I'm really noticing another big difference between L.A. and rural Alberta..... Putting this dang blog up is taking me forever! 5 pics downloaded in L.A. took merely minutes. At home, 3 pics took at leat 15 minutes! Let alone 5...! So I hope you're appreciating....! :O

So, needless to say, things got a little busy and I didn't keep up with my blogging while on my vacation/honeymoon. So here's some more pics!

On Sunday, my brother, my neice, Guy and I went to Knott's Berry Farms. Bigger rides. SCARIER RIDES!! Whaahoooo!!!! We were all looking forward to this day! Anyone who's already been there knows what I'm talking about! The wimps stayed back at the hotel...! :)

This is the very first ride we went on. It's an old style roller coaster named "GHOSTRIDER."
We thought, "Agh, we'll start off with something easy. The slow, old one." Boy were we wrong!

This coaster was one of the best with the most drops and stomach flippers in the park! It is known as the longest, wildest wooden coaster in the west! The only downfall was that it was SO rough. You really got jerked around. AND... I lost my favourite pink camo, Bass Pro Shop ball cap. I pouted about that for a while. Left the hat on though because the ride was going to be so slow and boring! Yeah, right....!

This was the next one. The PONY EXPRESS. It's only 32 seconds long, but is different because it locks you in a forward position. Takes you from 0-38 mph in less than 3 seconds. Guy and I sat right in the front to get best effect from the turns!

Can anyone say, "jackass?" Guy suggested we go on the tube ride called, "BIGFOOT RAPIDS," despite the cool, sunless day. Well, of course, he's the only one who didn't get wet.
Check us out!

Well yeah.....we HAD to relive our youth and go on the BUMPER CARS! I think they slowed them down since I was young.....

This was one of our favourite rides. It's called, "THE SILVER BULLET." A good loop-de-loop, feel the g-force, roller coaster that you ride with your feet suspended. It includes a verticle loop of 105 ft. The picture does it no justice.

This one was fun. Sorry I don't have a very good picture. It's called, "MONTEZUMAS REVENGE." Basically you have one long track with a loop in the middle. It start off accelerating you from 0-55mph in 5 seconds, through the loop and straight up in the air. When you're going up there you see nothing but sky, no track, nothing. Then you go backwards through the same loop and up the other end. A good rush!

This is the one we were most disappointed about. It was on our MUST DO! list but was closed. Called the "XCELERATOR," it shoots you straight up 205 ft in the air at a speed of 0-80 mph in 2.3 seconds. Can you imagine?! Then you take a sharp turn on the outside of the track and head straight down. Now that's adrenaline!

This was one of our last rides. Everyone was going to wimp out on me until I declared that I was going on it no matter what. Guy, not wanting to be outdone by me, then consented to go. It's called, "THE SUPREME SCREAM," and is one of the world's tallest thrill rides. You are belted in and taken to 250 feet, (25 stories) and then dropped. Almost comparable to sky diving but not quite! I had to check my restraint device a couple of times though as we climbed higher and higher! Quite the view!

In an old cemetary. You stand on this guy's grave and you can feel his heart beat...

Posing in the coffin. Notice Guy, the appropriate newly married one, is crying. My brother on the other hand......

More to come.....

W2 Wednesday Wine Tasting...

Evening everyone! Well Wednesday's wine tasting was jinxed from last week is the way I figure...so I put up this soothing picture I took on the way to the hummingbird, it was a stunning sunset!
Last week we were bringing home Wednesday wine as it is the BEST wine I have ever tasted thus far in my travels. Well it didn't make the trip and than to top it off I left it in the hotel room without writing down what it was...ACK! Frantic call to my cousin Redge who introduced me and he is not home.
So after shopping today with my sick child in tow sleeping in every isle she could. I remember it was Wednesday and stopped off to buy wine. I strolled frantically looking for this bottle of wine as I knew I would remember the label...um NOPE. So disappointed I found Ya Ya Susan's & Brenda's new favorite and GRABBED it. After some thought new that would break a ton of Ya Ya rules so put it back! I randomly grabbed a bottle from South Africa. Oh wait it gets worst....I get home open the door all the dogs and wine comes out...didn't break but later wished it did! I try to open it the cork breaks...oh boy dry cork is not a good sign. So I proceed to try to corkscrew the rest out nope...have to push it in. I do so and wine all over my floor and new socks. And the smell from the wine bottle is not good. I giggle thinking "here we go!" I grab my glass from the bar mis-step and it breaks...should of gone to bed! First taste....wasn't bad. Second....bad. Third....down the drain. Okay I have a mission to find out what that wine was for next week cuz holy crap it was GOOD! Hope you all had a better night. Oh it was called ROODENBERG......DON"T BUY IT EVER!
Brenda I am glad your home...YEE HAW!
