Camp life for a foal....

Sierra my foal has been at camp since the spring and I LOVE having her there. We keep her and Jessie (mom) out of the pens and they are free to roam where ever. Most mornings I wake up to her laying in front of the 5th wheel...ahh does it get better than that! Nothing bothers her and she thinks this is all normal...man I can't wait to ride her. She sure brings a smile to everyone especially ME!

She sure is growing....

Curves members enjoy a pack trip with us!

We enjoyed a fantastic trip with some of the members of Curves as our last trip in July...enjoy these great shots from Kayla!!!

The view from our camp...ahhh
Davey having a nap at lunch

Brenda riding Ghost a Wild Deuce keeper horse.

Taylor with one of the puppies...eyes are open!
Kayla around the fire with the camp cat "Boy".

Peppers Lake!

5 Star Service for the ladies!!!

Some of the Wild Horses up river.

Kayla riding Zip across the clearwater!

Drumheller bound....

We went to Tyrell museum and realized how small we really are....good thing we don't have to train dinosaurs! It was so hot that we stopped with the team in the trailer in some shade. Chuck fell asleep with Taylor's new dino on his chest...my MAN! smile

The Blue mare....update!

Chuck has been really enjoying our blue mare who will be offered for sale this fall. Chuck has been calling her Bonnie...I am still up in the air on the name. She is gentle and is very responsive, athletic and really enjoying it out west. Chuck has chased cows and covered alot of ground on her. I can't wait to ride her and enjoying getting to know her better! If you have any name ideas...comment to this blog!

Surprises for my mother-in-law!!!

We headed south this morning with the team Mike & Arvid to surprise my mother-in-law for her 65th birthday. She had no idea we were on our way and we woke up early as we couldn't wait to see her re-action! With our lifestyle our family and friends don't see us in the summer unless they come west but with a 65th we had to do something BIG for Donna!

The family all geared up for a trip around town.

We pulled into the gas station and the women came out with a big smile and explaining their was no horse fuel there....

We stopped for a cold beer at the old Hotel and met some locals who could tell we were not from this town...smile.

Grant (my brother-in-law) with the team up. The train went by and the team didn't even look up from eating...its neat to see the bush horses in town and not care.

Keeping it green...even when watering horses in town!

It was a fun day in the sun with family and so has the last few trips we have had out at camp. I wished I had brought the pics to update....it is on my to do list next time to town. We head up river next week to set up Lone Horse and let the August season begin!
Remember to book some time off work for our Working Mountain Horse Challenge at the end of September...going to be another fun time!

Fun is always had at STAMPEDE!

All horses we took to the Stampede are for sale in the fall. Davey was our STAR putting up with 5 days of being the pack demo horse. He's awesome...and patient!
Hitman (the black & white paint) was my main mount and Zip, Steel and Billy filled in as well.

So, I had a few helpers for the 5 days of packing demos at the
Stampede. As always, we wandered....made friends....anything goes at Stampede...right?!
