Weddings by Wild Deuce

Last weekend we hosted a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple - Marie and Henry. The ceremony was held at the picturesque Hummingbird Falls, a short drive from our Mountain Base Camp.

While their chosen wedding song played in the background, the bride rode down to meet her groom on a shining white horse.

Their vows were exchanged in the company of friends and family, on a rock outcropping overlooking the falls.

Henri then led Marie on her horse down the trail into the setting sun.
After some photos were taken, we returned to our Base Camp - Henry and Marie arrived a short time later by horse drawn carriage, driven by Chuck. The family and guests celebrated after a wedding supper prepared by our chef. The following day the couple went for a ride on two of our horses, Diesel and Farmer - of course followed by cameras! (They did, however, spend some time alone in our honeymoon suite!) A great wedding and a great weekend complimented by sunny skies and warm weather.

The Mountain Cattle Call....

Here is Kevin tacking up his Wild Deuce appointed horse!

The guys and one girl rode along with the cowboss for three days of riding, roping and doctoring cattle. They were given a horse and were responsible for their horse, getting their gear on each morning and enjoying the weekend. We also included a beer tasting and on the last night anyone who wanted some gear branded got it branded! We also had a reporter from the National post on this trip and we look forward to his article!

One of our guests Blaine with his horse for the trip "Deisel". Deisel is in our sale this fall.

Here Ken and Chuck are making rope halters for the horses.

The Man from Snowy River....yee haw!

While doing our demo we were approached by the guy from Australia who trained all the horses for the movie "man from snowy river" including the main horse that went over the hill. That horse lived to be 34. Him and his wife came back to our trailor and he taught us how to crack the whip. It was really neat and one of the biggest highlights for me!

More highlights of Calgary Stampede

We stand up on our horses for a picture with the fireworks!

We met a reporter with CTV who jumped on Jessie for a picture.

Our wranglers in the big city...

Peso, Jessie and Dale enjoy some grass on the curb.

Yep there was a limo sitting there and we had to ask if we could sit in it!

Milly enjoyed the stampede and riding with me around the grounds!

Good food!

The wranglers gone WILD!

oh boy Brenda.....

They made me put on a very hot suit from navy....it was different and I scared a few people running at them in it!

Our helpers looking gorgeous...eh Ya Ya Susan!

We were driving out for the night and seen this little horse not wanting to load. Heidi wanted to help, than we watched a person just lift the mini in and than they closed the door. Mental note...no matter what the size of a horse, still a horse!

How can you not want a car like this...hey Deb?

Wild Deuce meets the RCMP

We had fun taking pictures with people in the big city! One day while Brenda was gone she came back with a badge. She is now an official helper of the Calgary Police. I on the other hand almost got thrown in jail....smile. While out at the chuckwagon's with Wrangler Scott and Wrangler Heidi. We ran into the cops and I wanted to show them my broken hunting knife. While pulling it out they reached for there guns, (which I didn't see cuz I was pulling my knife out). Heidi on the other hand did see it and was very worried. Anyways when I came out with a broke knife and a big smile....it was all good.

Some pictures from the last trip before Calgary Stampede!

Shelley sent us some pictures from a fabulous Ladies Retreat & Wine tasting, here is a pic of us and our lunch spot!

On our way to CALGARY STAMPEDE

Hi folks....good (well kind of good) to be out of the hills. We just rapped up a great Women's Retreat and Wine tasting. Our wine guy Martin from the Tamarack in Rocky Mountain House was unable to make it so he sent 18 bottles of wine....WOW! We had to take a picture with all the great gals! It was a night to remember...hey girls, as what goes on a wine tasting stays on a wine tasting! smile. So we are now out and ready for Calgary...but we have some bad news, I (Terri) broke some ribs and now can't do our string demo BUT we are still going to do our packing demo with three horses ( Jessie, Peso and Diesal) so please come on out and see us! We have already lined up for next year to do the string demo but now this way we see where we are going and what to expect! yee haw....Calgary here we come! Will keep you folks updated so stay tuned....
