Tuesday's Team Penning...in Alder Flats!

We headed to ride in the arena in the am and team pen in the pm in Alder Flats!

Decker

Arena time on Boone, he is coming along nice. Giving, moving off the leg really nice.

Rusty was the star, picked up all his correct leads, cantered nice moving circles and seemed to enjoy the arena.

Heading into team penning..

Dawn Didier on her SALE HORSE FOR OUR WORKING MOUNTAIN HORSE SALE this September 23-25 2011. He is a fancy 4 year old papered AQHA buckskin named Moe. This was his first time penning and he did it like a champ! Did I mention he is a looker...they bought him from the breeder as a weanling so have raised him. She is coming up river to our high camp on Moe this summer, so I will see more!

Hanging on the Millers saddle...smile

Another Consigned horse for the sale! Brenda is riding her mare that is really good at penning and well broke. With drop dead looks to boot! The Millers also have a pony in the sale and will be joining us up river to set up our camp. It looks like most of our consignors will be joining us this summer on their sale horses! This is going to be one heck of a sale...can't wait! (we have some BIG news for the sale we just found out today...news to follow)

Look at this sale mare cut this calf...

Dawn on her Moe (in the sale)

The gelding of Millers I would love to own...Richard keeps his eye on him when I am around him. smile

Shanice's team (she is riding Decker). They were winning till their last run and some bad luck with the calves...

Shanice on Decker.

Dawn on Moe.

Brenda & Richard! ahhhhhhhh

14 teams tonight...

I rode Wrangler first and this was his first time, he did like Wrangler does everything well. He was out of shape so didn't work him to much, but he followed and moved them nice.

Waiting his turn...

Shanice texting...REALLY???? kids now a days eh! smile

Alder Flats cowboy boots...he said "the split in the boots is good in rivers out west as the water goes out quicker". I checked his other boot and it was a matched set!!!

After Wrangler had a few runs, I switched out and grabbed Rusty. The looks I got while riding my "plow pony" they called him was so fun when he went in and we penned our first set of cattle. He cut like a pro and I had a BLAST. He is now going to be my penning horse...plow horse my )(*^&)(*^&! smile

Getting them in on Rusty! yee haw

Rusty is so darn agile and quick the sky is the limit for this gelding. I mean he already, packs, drives and rides out so well. He is a mountain goat in the hills and kind to kids, now he is penning like a champ! Someone is going to be super lucky to buy this guy...this fall.

After penning Pam Didier jumped on with me on Rusty and we went to pull tags off the calves...was a hoot!

Time to head home..(Kane-Boone-Wrangler)

That was the best penning EVER, I had a ton
of fun and finally got some good visiting in...see you guys next week!
