Highlights of the Ranch Roping Clinic...

Loaded up and heading out early Saturday morning...

Morning coffee once we get to the clinic, nice way to start the day!

Jim Cumberland getting our ropes ready for the weekend.

Chuck helping to tie the turks head knot in our ropes.

Everybody enjoys watching!

Next we move on to the roping dummy and learn the throws.

Some of us did get a bit chilled, so Scott put on his hunting boots!

Kayla getting a feel for the rope as they were 50-60 feet long...

After lunch we move to the horses. Here Dale the host is helping Chuck.

We practice with the roping dummy on our horses.

Jim watching us..

Next we introduce the log to the horses, facing up than dragging it.
Following the log.

Curt enjoying the clinic as he does with life!

Dale Bradshaw teaching Curt & Christine.

After a long day of learning supper served and the nighly activites are soon to begin (look in the other post for those pics...)

Kayla & Brian Sunday morning.
Sunday we get to start roping on the real life cattle...
Wayne going for the big steer!
Dale Bradshaw showing us rookies how it is done!

Jim about to show us how to doctor.

Jim showing us how to take your neck rope off and put it on your front legs.

The crew watching & learning.

Wrangler Scott building a loop

Rob Purdy showing us how to take down a critter if by yourself (he looks after 1500hd by himself).

We all found the clinic very informative in a relaxed learning atmosphere. The ranch roping clinic was hosted at Red Lodge Guest Ranch by Dale & Wendy Bradshaw. We had three cowboys teaching us, Dale Bradshaw, Jim Cumberland and Rob Purdy. We all are wanting to book another clinic this fall. If you want to book with us or book your own clinic let me know!
