Clinic day is here....

This morning at 10:00 we will be starting our first clinic of the season! We are really looking forward to it and I hope the weather holds for us. I will be taking pictures of the weekend. Andrea, Lillian and Rachel all took a day of roping lessons from Mel who use to be a calf roper and team roper. We are trying to convince him to teach us and some folks out west...he is a good teacher too! Looks like they had fun and sorry girls I couldn't make it. And ummmm why are you riding the steer???

W2 Wednesday Wine Tasting...

Okay...do you want the good news or the bad? Let's back up...our wine this week is home made and comes from my friend Lis whom I visited last week. Okay....I had a GREAT day and will tell you why tommorow. But I came home late after a day of fencing. So I came in and put Taylor to sleep and poured myself some wine in a to go cup and went out to do chores in the dark! Good news, I had sip and it was quite tasty...bad news, I feed the horses grain at night. I put my mug on the table in the barn, opened the door it was all going good until Blueberry (a training horse) was hyper and knocked the table and down the mug went....all the Wednesday Wine on the floor....stay tuned! night all, talk to you tommorow!

Jake is sold....

I sold Jake today....and it was hard as he has been my pick of the litter and with me for 7 months. But, he went the best home I could ask for! I sold him to Risa & Brad who run the Chutter Ranch in Merrit B.C. Brad is the cow boss and was looking for a working dog. I haven't met Brad yet but met Risa and her two little ones this morning...

We have a lot in common and although sad, very happy he went the right home. Keep in touch Risa and we are going to visit and bring our saddles...

Wind really sucks....

Been busy.... Cowboy Chuck is gone farming so not sure what is in his cup these days! He is working nights seeding and sleeping the afternoon's. I however am trying to drink more tea than coffee....hmmm I am sure that will catch on soon! smile. Been doing lots of round penning for folks who want to have horses trained these days and getting my string out. I even felt a bit stiff this morning after about 20miles of riding yesterday and one paint horse loosing his lid (the owner was told today...) Today I was busy cleaning and getting ready for the big clinic this weekend! VERY EXCITED! Stupid weather...snow flakes ARE NOT OKAY right now! I was fencing a bit tonight and could see my breath, not cool. Blanketed all the horses and now I am hitting the hay. Tommorow I will try Lis's home made wine! stay tuned...oh I need another contest too don't I? hmmm....will sleep on it. night

Happy MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed it with their MOM! We have an annoucement about the $1000.00 prize. It was hard to pick the winner from all the entries with Bren and I reading the letters....sooooo we picked the GRAND PRIZE winner who is Lindsay Coulter from Vancouver B.C. and her MOM. But....we had three top letters and so we decided to give our runners up a $500.00 gift certificate to the same trip! So we gave out today $2000.00 dollars in prizes to this great mother-daughter pack trip! Join in on this trip...as I also gave this to my mom for mother's day and she is so pumped she wanted all the forms and asked me a million questions....I can't wait for this trip!
